Advance drilling is a type of construction survey. When the foundation pile is excavated to the bearing layer, it is an exploratory drilling survey conducted to determine whether there are weak interlayers, cavities, and other adverse geological processes within a range of no less than 5 meters below the bearing layer of the foundation pile. Mainly for foundation piles in karst areas, drilling methods are used to check the bedrock condition at the bottom of the piles before they are formed, which is basically one pile, one hole, and large piles with multiple holes. Usually, after the pile design drawing is drawn, the pile is excavated in place and before pouring concrete. Generally, geological strata can be surveyed at selected points, and it is best to conduct each survey in karst areas.
